Why was he so good? Something to do with presence. Everyone else was frantic, ran themselves crazy trying to whip up reaction. Orbison just commanded: the big O.

To catch your breath…

THE CHEAT OF TIME

Roy Orbison sings WILD HEARTS:

to remind us of Nicolas Roeg’s Insignificance.

what sense?

In truth, we return to the end of the world. Ah yes! Another Roeg…a whirlwind of new reason emanates, which only extravagance would attempt to supercede. One must be prepared to forget signs, and reverberate (with) the spell of an elusive technique. The sparkle in Roeg’s untoward eye denudes nothing of a ‘truth’ but lays claim only to the outside of speculation: a speculation bright enough to be taken for truth’s double. How else can the screen between art and history be lifted, unless it be through an exit out of the strictly representational cinema that maintains their opposition?

THIS SOUVENIR OF INSIGNIFICANCE FORMS A PART OF NUMBER NINE in Z.T.T.’s catchy Action Series.

“where the song takes off time…and goes on.

“And so we might say coming out of Insignificance, we were only on our way to this exit after all, an end which refuses the end.”
