ZTT go OTT
FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD have added three more dates to their British tour this Spring. The rest of the tour is already a sell-out.
The extra shows are at Glasgow Apollo on March 21 and London’s Hammersmith Odeon 28 and 29.
The follow-up to the group’s third consecutive Number One is ‘Welcome To The Pleasure Dome’/’Disneyland’ which is released by ZTT in a couple of weeks.
ZTT have also announced plans for the rest of their growing roster. Andrew Poppy, one of three new ‘entertainers’ signed last year, is finishing off his first album, provisionally titled ‘The Subject Is Of No Object’ which will be out in April.
There’s also the first album from Propaganda (whose Claudia Bruecken is pictured above) which has been recorded in London and Dusseldorf. The new single from it will be ‘P-Machinery’.
Anne Pigalle, another new signing described in Morley-speak as a ‘scorch singer’, is nearing completion on her first LP which could be titled ‘Everything Could Be So Perfect’.
Then there’s Instinct, ‘a soulful, mobile intelligent unit of Angela Jaeger, Simon Underwood and James Johnson’. They’ve just gone into the studio to record a single called ‘Sleepwalking’ but you’ll have to hold your breath till May for that one.
Finally ZTT veterans the Art Of Noise are back in the studio recording a new single called ‘Moments In Love’. Meanwhile a cassette called ‘That Was Close’ which ‘tells the story of ‘Close (To The Edit)’’ is released this week.
Spreading out towards world domination, ZTT move into the publishing field with a photo-book called And Suddenly There Came A Bang! —
