Anne Pigalle is supposed to be ZTT’s sultry chanteuse but her recent live performances suggested she wasn’t going to be a very good one — she spent far too much time dangling over the mikestand singing badly, smoking cigarettes and looking miserable. This, her first album, is far better. She still does her sleazy French Sade impression but the complicated mysterious songs — especially the next single “Why Does It Have To Be This Way” — are really rather good.
