HOLLY JOHNSON, AZTEC CAMERA and BEN WATT and TRACEY THORN of EVERYTHING BUT THE GIRL are among the stars who have confirmed for Action Against Aids’ second Party on May 29.
Jimmy Sommerville and Richard Coles of The Communards and The Stranglers are also appearing at the concert at London’s Wembley Arena.
Many more major artists are expected to join the bill over the coming weeks.
Tickets costing £19.50 are already on sale from the box office, usual agents and by credit card booking (01 902 1334 and 01 741 8989). Postal applications can be sent to Party II Box Office, PO Box 2, London W6 0LQ. Cheques and POs should be made payable to Aids Day Ltd, with a 50p booking fee added and sent with an SAE.
£12.50 from each ticket sold will go to Action Against Aids, the fund-raising arm of the Terrence Higgins Trust.
Many other artists have pledged their support but cannot appear at the Party. Instead some will be appearing at Time Out Live, the magazine’s ‘lifestyle’ event at London’s Olympia from May 27-30.
Bros are also appearing at a fundraising event for the charity. They’ll be doing several songs during a show at Hammersmith Palais, West London, on May 10. Janice Long and Gary Crowley are comperes on the night.
