FRANKIE GOES TO HOLLYWOOD at the Camden Palace — Two songs only, nine inches of space to fill and so … best to go to it! In a time of restraint and restriction, grey clouds and dull skies, Frankie’s onstage excess — a vivid explosion (like their single) of sex, colour and abandon, a mixing up of gender and genitals with no shame, but wicked smiles — is a welcome move against the current complacency.
Only two songs, a touching ‘Ferry Across The Mersey’, harmonies intact, matched by the relentless pulse of ‘Relax’, a nerve filled epic of tension and desire, matched by their costumes and actions.
Enthralling, there should have been more.
