There was a time when Holly Johnson, as singer of Frankie Goes To Hollywood, was about 20 million times more famous than Matt Goss is now, but then the Frankie story went askew. Now, after years of legal wrangling, Holly Johnson is free to get on with his “solo” career, which he does in a thumping electro disco sort of fashion, exhorting us all to “stoke up” the Love Train. It’s not the most devastatingly original of grooves, but it’s a sprightly enough re-appearance and will doubtless be very popular in “clubland”.
